VIKids Carnival returns to Alamanda with retro-themed attractions and family entertainment
PUTRAJAYA: Alamanda Shopping Centre is bringing back its annual VIKids Carnival from May 20 to June 7, offering families a range of games, performances and activities during the mid-term school holidays.
The 19-day event aims to provide a family-oriented experience centred on entertainment, creativity and community engagement, with organisers expecting strong participation from children and parents throughout the holiday period.
This year’s carnival will transform Alamanda’s Centre Court into a retro-futuristic setting inspired by the colourful neon aesthetics of the 1980s.
Visitors can expect black-and-white checkered flooring and themed decorations featuring nostalgic items such as cassette tapes, boomboxes and palm trees.
The carnival will include four booths featuring traditional funfair games, arcade activities and arts and crafts sessions that will be open to the public.
Weekend visitors can also look forward to live performances, with three shows scheduled daily every Saturday and Sunday.
The line-up includes Neon Dance performances, magic shows and balloon clown acts aimed at creating an engaging atmosphere for families.
Under the VIKids Shoppers Rewards Programme, existing members who spend RM300 or more across up to two receipts at specialty stores can redeem two complimentary carnival passes.
Non-members can also enjoy the rewards by spending RM500 and above across two receipts.
The carnival passes will provide access to selected activities and games.
Meanwhile, Mesra Mall will host its own VIKids Carnival edition from May 22 to May 26, offering a school holiday programme built around a stationery-themed concept.
The event will include a themed photo area and a series of daily do-it-yourself workshops from 2pm to 6pm, where children aged below 12 can create personalised items such as school timetables, stationery holders, pencil toppers and bookmarks.
Through Mesra Mall’s rewards programme, VIKids members who spend RM50 or more in a single receipt at specialty stores will receive two complimentary workshop tickets.
New VIKids registrations with a minimum spend of RM100 in a single receipt will also receive two workshop tickets and a stationery set goodie bag for the first 300 sign-ups.
Suria KLCC Group executive director and chief executive officer Francis Tan said the initiative was designed to create meaningful experiences for families during the school holiday period.
