Newlywed Anis shares distressing ordeal after a bridal assistant allegedly stole her mother’s gifted necklace, later admitting to the theft.
A MALAYSIAN bride has shared a distressing experience from her wedding day after alleging that a bridal assistant stole a necklace gifted to her by her mother.
The incident came to light after newlywed Anis (@ansyahira_) recounted the ordeal on Threads, where her posts quickly attracted widespread attention.
According to Anis, the alleged theft occurred while she was preparing for her wedding ceremony. She claimed the bridal assistant had offered to adjust her inner neck covering, saying it appeared untidy.
However, video footage inadvertently captured by the wedding content creator later raised suspicions.
“So in this room, there were only me, the makeup artist (MUA), the wedding content creator (WCC) and this thief.
“It all started when she said she wanted to fix my inner neck covering because she thought it looked messy and it was bothering her.
“But if you look at the first video, it was already neatly tucked inside my outfit,” she wrote.
“In the second video, you can see her slowly pulling the necklace from my neck. In that clip, she pulls it from the left side.
“There’s another video showing her reaching into the right side of my neckline and pulling the necklace upwards, but I can’t post it because it shows my neck.
“Honestly, I didn’t feel the necklace being removed at all at the time.
“The rest, I’ll leave it to you guys to judge for yourselves,” she added.
Anis said she only discovered the alleged theft after receiving the footage from the wedding content creator and reviewing the recordings.
She later confronted the bridal assistant but claimed the woman had avoided her for several months.
“For almost four months, I blamed myself for losing the necklace that my mum gave me as a wedding gift. She told me I should wear a necklace for my wedding. I was genuinely heartbroken,” she wrote.
In a follow-up post, Anis shared screenshots of conversations in which she confronted the woman and sent her the video footage.
According to Anis, the woman later admitted to taking the necklace and apologised for her actions.
The woman reportedly said she had acted out of desperation and expressed remorse, offering to compensate Anis through instalment payments due to financial difficulties.
“I apologise. I admit that what I did was wrong. At the time, I was in a desperate situation, but I know that is not an excuse.
“I genuinely want to resolve this matter properly. I will repay the amount in full, but I hope I can do so through instalments as my financial situation is currently quite tight. I hope we can discuss this and find the best way to settle the matter properly,” the woman allegedly wrote.
Following the alleged admission, Anis said she lodged a police report over the incident.
Her posts have since triggered widespread discussion online, with many expressing sympathy for the bride and disbelief that such an incident could allegedly occur on such an important occasion.
