KUALA LUMPUR: Power engineering solutions provider EI Power Bhd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, EI Power Technologies Sdn Bhd, has accepted a works subcontract agreement (WSA) valued at RM90.1 million for a data centre in Johor.

The WSA was awarded by a main contractor principally involved in engineering, construction and investment holding.

In accordance with the confidentiality terms of the WSA, the identity of the main contractor is not disclosed.

The scope covers the complete fuel system package for the data centre, encompassing supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning.

Works commenced upon acceptance of the WSA, with completion scheduled in September 2027.

Following this award, EI Power’s unbilled order book has increased to RM222.5 million.

This contract adds meaningfully to EI Power’s revenue pipeline and is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings over the duration of the project.

Executive director and CEO Ir Albert Chang Wan Siong said this award affirms that the group’s capabilities in mission-critical power engineering are being recognised at the highest level of the industry.

“Coming just weeks after our listing, it reflects the kind of growth trajectory we set out to deliver for our shareholders.

“Data centres remain one of the most exciting and structurally supported growth segments in Malaysia. This contract is a clear reflection of the opportunities available to us, and we intend to build on this momentum to win further contracts in data centres, renewable energy, and other infrastructure segments that are shaping Malaysia’s growth story,” he said.

EI Power was listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia on May 21, 2026, raising RM62.2 million in proceeds to fund operational expansion, including a new headquarters, a branch office in Johor, and its foray into Thailand.

The group serves a broad range of industries, including data centres, commercial, industrial and residential developments, as well as solar farms.
