MALAYSIAN fashion designer Dickson Lim has achieved a major milestone on the global fashion stage after one of his menswear creations was worn at the 2026
Met Gala.

Lim, known for his sharp tailoring and contemporary menswear designs, proudly declared himself the first Malaysian menswear designer to be represented at the prestigious event after celebrity stylist Ty Hunter wore one of his pieces.

Hunter, widely recognised as Beyonce’s longtime stylist and fashion director, has played a significant role in shaping the superstar’s iconic visual identity over the years. His appearance at the Met Gala – walking alongside Beyonce during her high-profile return to fashion’s biggest night – brought even greater attention to Lim’s historic achievement.

Taking to Instagram, Lim shared his excitement with followers, posting: “First Malaysian menswear designer at Met Gala 2026” alongside visuals of Hunter’s appearance.

Lim also revealed his designs were featured on the front cover of The Wall Street Journal, an accomplishment he described as surreal.

In a heartfelt social media post, he expressed disbelief at seeing his work showcased on such an influential platform, especially alongside Beyonce, thanking Hunter for helping realise a dream he never imagined possible.
