Chloe Lim raises RM50K for the welfare home
Miss Universe Malaysia 2025 Chloe Lim has raised RM50,810 for Lighthouse Children’s Welfare Home, providing timely support for the organisation’s ongoing care of children amid the global economic crisis. The fundraising effort comes at a time when many welfare homes are facing increasing pressure to sustain daily operations amid rising costs and limited resources.
The donation was received by Steven Silvaraju and Jacinta Steven, the Founders of Lighthouse Children’s Welfare Home, during a mock cheque presentation ceremony held at the home in Bangsar. The funds will go towards the home’s most urgent needs, including rising medical bills, shelter repairs and the replacement of a broken-down van.
Steven said the welfare home remains committed to providing a safe, family-oriented environment for every child in its care, as well as education and guidance to help them grow into confident and responsible adults.

“Support such as this helps us continue that mission and respond to the children’s most immediate needs.”
The Lighthouse Children’s Welfare Home began as a small initiative to support orphaned and abandoned children before growing into a long-standing refuge for vulnerable children in need.
Today, the organisation operates four homes in Malaysia – for children from infancy to 18 years old, depending largely on public donations to continue its work.
Beauty on a mission
Lim’s involvement with the welfare home reflects a long-standing commitment that began during her school years, when she first volunteered with the children.
Since returning to Malaysia, she has reconnected with the home and deepened her involvement through visits, activities, mentoring and fundraising efforts.
“Every child deserves to feel safe, supported and cared for. Being able to play a part in their journey is something I cherish. Amid ongoing global tensions and a challenging economic environment, the needs of welfare homes are often overlooked,” said lim
She hoped this would help bring greater awareness to the children’s needs and encourage continued support for those who depend on them.

This effort underscores the importance of sustained community support for welfare homes and the essential care they provide. With continued awareness and action, more children can be given the stability, protection and opportunities they deserve.
Boost Juice Malaysia, an official Love Life Beverage Partner of Miss Universe Malaysia 2025, sponsored refreshments and merchandise for the ceremony, with Lim personally distributing smoothies to the children.
