A wife swapped curry for celery in a morning rush but her husband’s witty, heartwarming reply has people calling it green flags in marriage.
IN the chaotic morning rush of Malaysian family life, small domestic mistakes can easily spiral into light-hearted mishaps.
Yet how partners respond to these incidents often reveals the strength of a relationship.
A recent post on Threads has captured this dynamic, turning a simple lunchbox mix-up into a viral discussion about patience, empathy and the quiet virtues of a supportive spouse.
The story began when user @_aishanz shared her frantic morning experience.
She apologised to her husband for the confusion, explaining that she was juggling preparing his packed lunch while getting the children ready for school.
In her haste, she accidentally swapped the container holding his curry with one filled only with celery leaves. An attached WhatsApp screenshot showed her husband’s response to the mistake.
He simply replied: “Darling, I am vegetarian today.”
His wife responded with “Astaghfirullah”, reflecting both her relief and amusement at his calm handling of the situation.
The post resonated widely, with users praising the husband’s reaction as a hallmark of a healthy partnership. User @umhell0o described it as “an absolute green flag”, noting that he did not get angry but instead adapted by declaring himself vegetarian for the day.
Meanwhile, user @ultraviolet.dz observed that the moment reflected the couple’s strong relationship foundation.
Others shared similar domestic mishaps. User @nurdeeyanaa recalled making overly salty toast for her husband, who ate both slices without complaint before gently asking why it tasted unusual, adding: “I wish he had told me earlier so I could make him a new one.”
Another user @sitinorfadlina recalled accidentally adding salt to her husband’s breakfast drink while half-asleep. He reportedly reassured her that he understood she was tired and refused to make her feel guilty.
