A Malaysian driver claims a road bully rammed their car after a warning honk, with dashcam footage showing an obscene gesture being made.

A MALAYSIAN driver has triggered outrage online after sharing an alleged road rage incident that began with a simple warning honk and ended with damage to their vehicle.

In a Threads post, the driver claimed they honked to alert another motorist who appeared to be drifting into their lane without noticing a nearby vehicle.

The driver wrote: “I encountered a road bully today. I honked at him just to alert him because he was drifting into my lane and didn’t seem to realise that my car was right beside his.”

“Instead of backing off, he started chasing me, cut into my lane again and eventually hit the left side of my car,” the post added.

The dashcam footage reportedly shows the other driver making an obscene gesture during the confrontation.

The post quickly gained traction, with social media users expressing anger over the alleged behaviour and condemning what they described as a dangerous overreaction to a routine safety warning.

Many commenters stressed that car horns are intended as a safety tool to prevent accidents, not as a trigger for confrontation.

Several users also shared similar experiences, saying some motorists misinterpret even brief honks as personal insults rather than cautionary signals.

One user, @aphrodite83, said: “Everyone is so sensitive about being honked at, even when they are clearly in the wrong. A horn is meant to be a safety device, not a trigger for anger or ego issues.”

“It’s just a horn, not a personal attack,” the user added.

Another commenter, @im_tristupe, urged the victim to lodge a police report, noting that obscene gestures can constitute an offence and that dashcam footage could serve as evidence.
