Police find the suspect’s abandoned getaway car in Batu Gajah but Mohammad Farizzal Fazly Mohd Zulkifly remains at large.
IPOH: Police have found the getaway car believed to have been used by the suspect in the fatal stabbing of a man at Kilometre 12, Jalan Trans Perak, Kampung Gajah, yesterday.
Perak Tengah district police chief Supt Hafezul Helmi Hamzah said the black vehicle was found abandoned by the roadside in Batu Gajah following police tracking efforts.
However, he said the suspect, identified as Mohammad Farizzal Fazly Mohd Zulkifly, 30, has yet to be located and efforts to track him down are being intensified.
“The car used by the suspect to escape has been found by the roadside near Batu Gajah. So far, the suspect is still at large and efforts to trace him are ongoing,” he said when contacted today.
He said checks revealed that the suspect has a prior criminal record under Section 379A of the Penal Code linked to vehicle theft.
In yesterday’s incident, a 29-year-old man died of severe injuries after being stabbed by the suspect during a fight.
The victim was taken to a clinic for treatment before being pronounced dead by a medical officer.
