Retailer also secures three additional category wins in Singapore, alongside consumer-voted recognition from InfluentialBrands.
guardian Malaysia was named Health & Beauty Retailer of the Year – Malaysia at the Retail Asia Awards 2026, held in Singapore earlier this month at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.
The win marks a consecutive recognition for the retailer in the same category, following its previous award at the 2025 edition.
The company attributed the recognition to its long-standing presence in Malaysia’s health and beauty retail sector, having begun operations nearly six decades ago in Kuala Lumpur.
Speaking after the ceremony, Managing Director of guardian Malaysia and Brunei, Priscilla Wu reflected on the brand’s development from a small retail outlet into a nationwide chain serving wellness and personal care needs.

In addition to the top category win, guardian Malaysia received three further awards at the same event: Digital Initiative of the Year – Malaysia, Loyalty Programme of the Year – Malaysia, and Brand Transformation of the Year – Malaysia.
The digital initiative award recognised the company’s online content platforms, which aim to help consumers navigate product selection in areas such as health, skincare, and haircare.
These include educational hubs designed to provide product information, ingredient guidance and expert-led content, supported by online-to-offline features.
The loyalty programme award highlighted MYguardian Rewards, which has reportedly grown to more than six million members.
The programme incorporates data-driven customer engagement tools and partnerships with lifestyle brands.
Meanwhile, the brand transformation recognition was linked to improvements in the company’s own-brand product range and positioning.
In May 2026, guardian Malaysia was also named Top Health & Beauty Retailer for 2025 and 2026 by InfluentialBrands, a consumer-voting-based recognition platform. The acknowledgement was based on public votes from Malaysian shoppers.
According to Wu, the multiple recognitions across retail, digital, and loyalty categories reflect the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen customer engagement and service offerings.
She added that the retailer intends to continue expanding its role in the country’s health and wellness retail sector in the years ahead.
The various awards were presented under the Retail Asia Awards 2026 programme, which recognises retail performance and innovation across the region.
