Hitmaker returns with ‘Girl’, a nostalgic house anthem built for festivals, clubs
Following up from his successful 2025 mega-hit Edge of Desire, Jonas Blue returns almost a year later for Girl, a fresh and summery record that sees the singer bring his global crossover power to Defected Records.
With an undeniably catchy vocal hook supported by addictive guitar patterns and a headsy four-on-the-floor groove, Girl is poised to dominate playlists at open-air parties to long club nights throughout the year.
“This record really came from a place of pure nostalgia for me. I have always had a deep love for French house and that early 2000s era of house music, the kind of tracks that were simple, catchy and just made you feel good instantly,” said Jonas.
“I feel like somewhere along the way, we lost a bit of that playful energy, especially when it comes to hooks that people can sing back without even thinking.”

Return to feel-good music
According to Jonas Blue, Girl was a way for Blue to tap back into it, especially as the song was a session that flowed naturally and chased a feeling, without overthinking.
The song comes off the back of Edge of Desire, which has gained over 200 million streams, chart peaks and multiple remixes afrom artists across the wider house music spectrum since its release in July 2025.
The year ahead will also see Blue continue to captivate global attention with his 14-date US tour, along with a wealth of new music in the pipeline.
