Malaysia’s top PUBG MOBILE teams are set for a high-stakes showdown this weekend as 16 squads battle for regional glory, a share of the USD50,000 prize pool, and qualification to the PMGO Season 1 SEA Finals
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s premier professional PUBG MOBILE competition returns in full force this weekend as the PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) Malaysia Spring 2026 Grand Finals gets underway from May 1-3, featuring the country’s top esports talent, seasoned veterans and emerging stars vying for regional supremacy.
The league stage concluded on April 26, with Maqna Esports Club (MEC) and AZ Slumber (AZ) finishing level on league points, with MEC securing top spot through a tiebreaker to earn the highest headstart points heading into the finals.
Among the breakout stars this season was MEC FEXCRY, who claimed the League MVP title after a string of dominant performances, underlining the emergence of Malaysia’s next generation of esports talent. He was closely followed by AZ Slumber’s BOBBY and MYZX, as well as 52 AISYY, all of whom finished among the top contenders in the MVP race.
Meanwhile, experienced names such as ADIKLUQ of Vertice and UHIGH of Golden Spear continued to showcase their consistency, guiding their teams to top-four finishes in the standings.
A total of 16 teams have qualified for the Grand Finals, where they will battle for a share of the USD50,000 prize pool, with the top three teams earning qualification to the PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) Season 1: Southeast Asia Finals.
Ashley Phuah, Product Manager of PUBG MOBILE Malaysia, described the return of PMPL Malaysia as a significant milestone for the local esports ecosystem, highlighting the blend of legendary veterans and rising stars in this season’s competition.
The Grand Finals will be held online and streamed live daily from 6pm.
Fans can also join the action through a special MEC Watch Party at Sembang @ Jalan Sultan Ismail, opposite Quill City Mall, from 5pm to 11pm throughout the three-day event.
The bottom four teams at the conclusion of the finals will be relegated to the PMNC Finals, where they must fight for a place in the Fall season.
