M’sian fresh grad earning RM7K sparks debate after saying he’s stressed he can’t spend it all, drawing criticism and advice from netizens.
A Malaysian fresh graduate has stirred debate online after revealing that his source of stress is not financial hardship, but the opposite, being unable to fully spend his monthly income.
The anonymous confession, which was shared on X by user @meinmokhtar, quickly gained traction and triggered mixed reactions from netizens.
In the post, the graduate said he earns RM7,000 a month while having minimal financial responsibilities.
He explained that his parents take care of major expenses such as his car and housing, leaving him to only cover daily costs like food.
He added that he occasionally treats his friends and even maintains two gym memberships at the same time.
Despite these expenses, he said a significant portion of his salary remains untouched each month.
“I’m getting stressed like this,” he wrote.
The statement did not sit well with many online users, who pointed out that most people face the opposite situation, struggling to stretch their income to cover necessities.
Some criticised the post as being out of touch, especially in the current economic climate where many are trying to make ends meet.
Others, however, responded with more practical suggestions, encouraging the graduate to start saving or investing his extra income.
Still, some took a lighter approach, telling him to simply enjoy his financial position while it lasts.
“Too much money also makes you stressed, while others don’t even have enough money and they’re the ones who should be stressed,” one user called @NorshafiqM opined.
“Must be nice for you. Even RM7,000 isn’t enough for me just to pay my monthly house expenses,” @lamborghiniwhen lamented.
“If that’s the case, try saving for the future. When you have the intention, you can also give a little charity or gifts to students or family members (like your nieces or nephews), for example buying them books or treating them to a meal once in a while. Just do it within your means. At the very least, you’ll be remembered in their prayers.
“Just a suggestion hehe,” @rafiqabdulraoff suggested.
“That’s nice. Go travel, anon. Fly to Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland,” @FlyKiteSmellAir offered.
“Try transferring some (money) to me, might ease that headache a bit,” @shaqirturidi joked.
