guardian Malaysia launches Asia-focused derma skincare with top brands and partnership with Malaysian Pharmacists Society, offering AI skin checks and expert-led solutions.
GUARDIAN Malaysia has launched what it describes as the widest range of made-in-Asia dermatological skincare, highlighting a growing shift towards region-specific solutions amid rising temperatures and evolving consumer awareness.
The launch took place at the Asian Derma Concourse held at Sunway Pyramid from April 20 to 26, bringing together leading skincare brands from China and South Korea under one roof as part of a SkinQi-themed showcase.
Among the brands featured are Winona, Pyunkang Yul, APLB, 377 Sightfuture, Proya, Chando and HBN, with most available exclusively at guardian outlets. The range focuses on addressing key skin concerns prevalent in Asian climates, including eczema, acne and hyperpigmentation.

guardian Malaysia Managing Director Priscilla Wu said the initiative reflects the increasing demand for skincare tailored to regional needs, particularly in light of ongoing heatwave conditions.
“These curated brands are focused on the highly relevant categories of eczema, acne and hyperpigmentation so Malaysians can access formulations — some of which showcase the ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ of herbs and science — that have been developed with Asian skin concerns in mind,” she said during the media launch.
The emphasis on climate-appropriate skincare comes as rising temperatures are known to exacerbate issues such as rashes, eczema and skin sensitivity, reinforcing the need for targeted formulations.
Each product in the newly launched range meets guardian’s dermatological standards and is developed or formulated in consultation with dermatologists. The products are also supported by clinical trials and ingredient efficacy testing in regional climates, covering areas such as barrier repair, brightening, anti-ageing and melanin control.
Wu added that the concept of “made-for-me” skincare is increasingly relevant, as Asian skin characteristics — including structure, physiology and pigmentation — differ from those of other regions.
“With these ‘Made-for-me’ skincare brands, the unmet need of our shoppers seeking out the best-of-the-best Asian derma skincare brands is now a thing of the past. We are the first to bring together the widest range of Asian derma skincare products all under one roof,” she added.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including Honorary Prof Amrahi Buang, president of the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS), alongside industry experts from participating brands.
In conjunction with the launch, guardian also signed a memorandum of understanding with MPS aimed at enhancing dermatology-focused training for its staff.
“This MOU with MPS covers collaborative efforts on dermatology-focused professional training programmes and strengthens our commitment as a trusted advisor of wellness,” Wu said, adding that guardian currently has over 100 derma-certified pharmacists and 600 in-store skincare advisors.
As part of its expanded offering, customers can also access an AI-powered Skin Health Check, designed to provide personalised assessments and recommend suitable skincare regimens.
“With the widest range of Asian derma skincare in-store, supported by our trained personnel and AI-powered tools, we aim to deliver optimal results and elevate our commitment to skin health,” she added.
guardian said the integration of expert advice, curated products and technology positions it as a comprehensive destination for skincare tailored to Asian consumers.
