Jaya Grocer joins The Mines Shopping Mall in Seri Kembangan as anchor tenant in CapitaLand’s 2026 rejuvenation plan.

THE MINES SHOPPING MALL has secured Jaya Grocer as its newest anchor tenant, bringing Malaysia’s leading mass-premium supermarket chain into the CapitaLand-managed property for the first time — a signing the mall’s management describes as a milestone in its broader effort to reinvent itself as a premier lifestyle destination in the Klang Valley.

The agreement was formalised at a ceremony held at the Mines Cruise, set along the mall’s iconic 85-metre Venetian-style canal — an architectural centrepiece that has long distinguished The Mines from other suburban shopping centres in the region.

Selina Ng, Managing Director of Retail at CapitaLand Investment (Malaysia), said the partnership reflects a shared vision for what The Mines can offer its surrounding community.

“Jaya Grocer has long been a trusted household name, and we are excited to bring their first Seri Kembangan outlet to our community. Their commitment to quality and convenience complements our vision for The Mines as a place where families can shop, dine and enjoy meaningful experiences together,” she said.

The new Jaya Grocer outlet will occupy over 29,000 square feet within the mall, offering a curated selection of quality groceries, fresh produce, and a range of local and international products. It is positioned to serve as a convenience anchor for families and food enthusiasts in the southern Selangor corridor.

Part of a Wider 2026 Transformation

The Jaya Grocer signing forms one pillar of The Mines’ broader rejuvenation plan for 2026, which aims to strengthen its retail core, expand its lifestyle and food and beverage offerings, and improve the overall visitor experience.

Recent additions to the mall’s entertainment and leisure lineup include Game On Theme Park, a sprawling 70,000-square-foot facility featuring more than 30 attractions — among them a 16-metre Ninja Challenge vertical course. Kin+Zo Land, a 25,000-square-foot farm-themed family entertainment centre, has also joined the roster, complementing existing operators such as TGV Cinemas, Fun Factory, and Fun Scape by Cobay.

On the lifestyle front, brands including Q Pocket and Oxygym Fitness have expanded the mall’s non-retail appeal, while Sport Planet and Gatti Sport have broadened its sporting goods offering. The food and beverage segment has seen new entrants including Chagee, Auntea Jenny, Luckin Coffee, and Wallace join established names such as Nando’s, The Chicken Rice Shop, Esquire Kitchen, and DubuYo.

Looking ahead, The Mines is planning a major asset enhancement initiative (AEI) in the second half of 2026, targeting upgrades to facilities, a refreshed tenant mix, and an improved overall shopping environment.

The Mines is located in Seri Kembangan, south of Kuala Lumpur’s federal district. For more information, visit the-mines.com.my
