MELAKA: The Malaysian Education Blueprint (RPM) 2026-2035 will help prepare the young generation for future challenges, said Education director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad.
He said among the identified challenges are climate change, an ageing population, global citizenship and emerging economic blocs.

“As principals and headmasters, they must be able to anticipate these developments and determine how to lead education at their respective schools based on the RPM 2026-2035.
“The blueprint also sets mandatory targets for students, requiring at least a Grade C in Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and History,” he told reporters after attending the professional dialogue programme at Kolej Yayasan Saad here recently.
Mohd Azam said the RPM 2026-2035 will also serve as a safeguard against the influx of external values in an era of borderless digital technology.
He said it would serve as a ‘jihad’ for teachers in shaping the younger generation with strong socio-emotional skills and high moral values, in line with local cultural values.
“Our children are increasingly exposed to a wave of external values that are sometimes not aligned with our own beliefs and cultural norms.
“That is why I need to remind every teacher to view this as a ‘jihad’ to develop our children’s potential by strengthening their cultural and moral values,” he said.
