‘Impressed with RTM’s quality this time. They are really moving forward. Thank you, RTM team.’
RADIO Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) has won over Malaysian football fans online after viewers praised the broadcaster’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup.
A Threads post by user 0nopurpose0 recently went viral after the user said they were ‘impressed’ by RTM’s broadcast quality and thanked the team behind the coverage.
“Impressed with RTM’s quality this time. They are really moving forward. Thank you, RTM team.”
The post attracted thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, with many Malaysians agreeing that the viewing experience had improved significantly.
Several users singled out the picture quality, while others praised RTM for delivering a smoother and more enjoyable football broadcast.
“Yes. Excellent work, RTM team,” gushed nhdyh_z.
“True bro. Really enjoyed watching the Korea vs Czech Republic match earlier. Thanks RTM,” wrote velous_printing.
While most comments were positive, one user argued that such quality should be expected from one of the country’s oldest and largest broadcasters.
“This should be the bare minimum,” one commenter wrote, adding that Malaysians should now expect high broadcast standards from a network that has operated for decades.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced on May 6 that RTM and Unifi TV will be the official broadcasters for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Malaysia.
He said the matches will be available via free-to-air television through MyTV, as well as over-the-top (OTT) platforms including RTM Klik and Unifi TV.
