A viral post claims medics laughed and acted unprofessionally at a neighbour’s death scene, sparking public outrage.

A THREADS post has triggered outrage online after a user shared a distressing account of what they described as unprofessional conduct by a medical response team during a neighbour’s death.

According to the user, the incident occurred after their neighbour suddenly collapsed at home. The family initially believed he had fainted and immediately called for medical assistance.

While waiting for help to arrive, the user said their father attempted CPR in an effort to revive the man.

“Last night, my neighbour passed away. Before he was officially pronounced dead, we called the medics because at first we thought he had just fainted after suddenly collapsing,” the user wrote.

“While waiting for them to arrive, my dad performed CPR.”

However, the user claimed that the conduct of some medical personnel upon arrival left the family deeply upset.

They alleged that one medic entered the home casually and only began putting on a face mask at the doorway, describing the behaviour as slow and lacking urgency despite the emergency situation.

“One of them walked in so casually and only started putting on his mask at the front door and even then, he did it very slowly,” the post read.

The user also claimed that there was confusion involving medical equipment brought to assess the patient’s condition, saying the wrong device was initially used.

“After entering the house, he asked his colleague to bring in a machine to check the patient’s pulse and heart activity. But his colleague brought in the wrong machine.”

More seriously, the user alleged that some of the medics laughed at the scene in front of the deceased and grieving family members, which they described as highly insensitive.

“And do you know what happened next? They actually started laughing. Not just a small chuckle, they were laughing openly in front of the deceased and the grieving family members.”

The user expressed frustration over what they viewed as a lack of professionalism and respect during a sensitive moment.

“I honestly cannot understand how some people can be so lacking in common sense and basic respect in a situation like that,” they wrote.

The post quickly gained traction, with netizens expressing anger and disappointment over the alleged incident, saying medical responders should always maintain professionalism and empathy during emergencies.

Some users shared contrasting experiences, including one who recalled a doctor breaking down in tears after being unable to save a patient in the emergency department, highlighting expectations of compassion in medical settings.

Others stressed that regardless of the situation, basic respect and sensitivity are essential when dealing with grieving families and deceased patients.
